Volunteer with SEA Change

There are two ways to volunteer with SEA Change, and each opportunity is open to all. You can submit a volunteer application for one or both volunteer opportunities by logging in to Port of Call and clicking "Become a Volunteer" in the main menu at the top of the page, or by following the button at the bottom of this page. Completing the volunteer application should take less than 10 minutes. Once you submit your application(s), you can view the status on your private profile page. Learn more about each volunteer opportunity below.

SEA Change Community Guide

Community Guides will will serve as leaders of the SEA Change Community on Port of Call, ensuring it remains an engaged, productive, and safe platform for discussion of topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEMM higher education. Once a volunteer is selected as a Guide, they will be assigned to at least one group where they will facilitate meaningful conversation and review flagged content as necessary. Selected Guides will be provided with training and guidance.

SEA Change Award Application Reviewer

Award Application Reviewers are the peer reviewers for SEA Change Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards applications. SEA Change will assemble peer review panels of 4-6 reviewers to evaluate up to three applications for a given cycle. Award Application Reviewers will selected based on the applications received and to ensure a diversity of perspectives and experiences. Selected volunteers for Award Application Review will be provided with training and guidance, and will need to be available to participate in virtual application review panels, as well as review revised applications if necessary. Upon completion of review, Award Application Reviewers will provide their recommendations to SEA Change.
